Do you offer consulting to other community developers?
- Yes. We have been asked by the Snohomish County Sustainability Task Force to help consult three other developments that are just getting started in Southern Snohomish County.
When will I be able to get involved?
- We are currently establishing the community. Involvement in the community is available in many different forms. Individuals interested in becoming involved should sign in on our Guest List page on our web site. Check the appropriate box as to what type of involvement you desire and we will contact you with the appropriate information.
How can I get involved?
- For individuals who are serious about living in the community, we are making available investment opportunities into Lake Armstrong Creek Development LLC. This investment will include an option to purchase a parcel or house once plat is approved.
- We will be offering various educational and community building programs when the Common House construction is completed. People, who would like to contribute through participation in these events, whether as an attendee or presenter, are more than welcome. Please register on our web site and share with us your interest.
Can I build my own house?
- Yes. There will be some restrictions as to the types of houses that are permitted. For all of the community members' sake, it is important to uphold the integrity of the community, both in terms of aesthetics, sustainability and real property values. If you are serious about becoming part of the community and building your own house please contact us and we will discuss the particulars.
Do you have house plans?
- We have not yet compiled a portfolio of house plans, yet we are continuing to assemble a team of some of the top Sustainable Architects in the world. Phil Hawes, the principle architect of BioSphere2 and Global Eco Village Inc. ( www.globalecovillage.com ) is part of our development team.
Is there going to be affordable housing?
- Yes. There will be a number of properties that will be made affordable though creative financing options. Please sign in on our web site and describe your interest.
Is the development going to be wheel chair accessible?
- Yes. The common house will have a ramp to access the building as well as an elevator within to allow easy access to the upstairs Great Room.
Is the value in my home going to be protected?
- Yes. There will be restrictions as to the types of homes built on the development. For example we will not allow houses to be constructed in the community that will compromise the integrity of the community, financially or otherwise.
What covenants and restrictions are parts of the community?
- The covenants and restrictions are currently being defined. The purpose of these covenants and restrictions are to maintain the integrity of the community. It is important for all individuals of the community to maintain the appropriate community spirit, through proper grounds upkeep, house designs, sustainable practices, community participation, etc.
Will there a homeowners association?
- Yes. The bylaws are currently being defined. The homeowners association will be responsible to maintain the property roads, utilities, and common areas as well as to maintain the integrity of the community spirit.
Will community members own stock in the common facilities? (E.g.: Farm, Common house, event proceeds, etc.)
- Yes. Towards the end of developing a close-knit community it is important that homeowners have a vested interest in the common workings of the community.
Will there be common tools, toys, vehicles, etc. available to community members?
- A primary aim of this community is to reduce consumption and promote sustainability. Towards that end members of the community can establish
- a pool of common equipment (boats, vehicles, tools, recreational equipment, etc.). The details of ownership, acquisition, management and maintenance will evolve along with the community.
Will there be sewage bioremediation?
- We are negotiating with State Health Department.
